Bella Mama specialises in pre and post natal massage and our therapists have extensive training, qualifications and expertise in this area. Because of our advanced specialist training, our massage treatments are suitable from the 1st Trimester onwards to birth and beyond. At Bella Mama we don't use 'pregnancy belly holes' on our massage tables, instead, positioning our mums in the safer and more comfortable 'side lying' pose with plenty of support and comfort. Javanese Herbal Belly Wrap
This traditional Indonesian treatment is designed to help rehabilitate the post-natal mothers body. Following abdominal massage techniques, a warm paste of traditional herbs and spices is applied to the belly secured with a firm wrap. This is then covered with a warm pack (known traditionally as 'mother roasting') which has the effect of tonifying and toning the abdominal muscles and skin. The wrap is then worn home and removed after a couple of hours. It is recommended to have three to six post-natal massages and wraps to take advantage of the full benefits.
