The BirthWorks Doula Training Workshop serves as a highly effective model for building your own doula business and opens an opportunity for personal growth.  We invite you to experience how speaking from the heart can bring more love and caring to your doula clients and help women realize that the knowledge about how to give birth is born within every woman.   Birth is instinctive.

The foundation of the workshop and certification program is human values which when put into practice increase confidence and decrease fear in birth. Women learn how to work with labor contractions and feel empowered by them. Topics covered in the workshop include but are not limited to effective interviewing techniques, nonpharmacological comfort measures in birth, optimal pelvic positioning applied to labor positions, releasing the pelvic floor, the physiology of birth, conflict resolution with role plays, mother/daughter relationships, grieving and healing, the microbiome and breastfeeding…and more.

Although you can choose to attend the workshop and join the certification program later, we highly recommend joining the certification program at the same time so you can receive your certification packet and Doulas Journal Workbook at the workshop.
